Job employment – Formwork Carpenter

Top Three Skills:
1- Formwork Carpentry experience but they don’t have to be a ticketed carpenter

2- Ability to carry 50 pounds

3- Interpret structural and architectural drawings

Job Description:   The Formwork Carpenter will be required to work on commercial and residential projects. As this is a concrete company, they usually handle pouring of the foundations for buildings. The candidate will be putting up the formwork (wooden barriers) in which the cement is to be poured in. The barriers are there to have the cement dry in a specific shape. In order to make this framework, the Carpenter will need to read blueprints and be able to interpret them to know how and where to place them. At times, the contractor may be required to work at heights on scaffolding as well as carry heavy objects that could be up to 50 pounds.

MUST HAVES

– +1 year of experience as a formwork carpenter

– Ability to lift +50 pounds on a regular basis

– Ability to interpret/comprehend structural and architectural drawings/blueprints

– Working at Heights certification

– WHMIS certification

– Good communication
